Jason Wilks
Pastor
Pastor Jason has a passion for everyone to know Jesus Christ. He has an insatiable love for God's Word which can be seen and heard any given Sunday or Wednesday as he preaches and teaches. His desire is for everyone to know God and give Him the glory He deserves.
Jason learned of Christ at an early age but attributes his true understanding of the gospel and conversion at the age of 17. Since then, the Spirit has transformed his life to desire to become more and more like Christ through the study and memorization of His Word. He has a passion for discipling believers to grow in their walk with Christ, encouraging them to follow hard after Jesus through the means of grace (worship, Bible reading and study, prayer, giving, community, etc).
He holds a Bachelors in Education from Georgia Southwestern State University, a Masters in Education from Columbus State University, and a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His hobbies include spending time with his family and reading books by great theologians and pastors.
Pastor Jason is married to Leslie Stanaland Wilks and they have four beautiful children: Faith (12), Grace (10), Hope (6), and Caleb (2). Leslie, a native of Mitchell County, has a diploma in Women's Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and she thrives on teaching women the Word of God. She enjoys helping women grow in their knowledge and understanding of the Bible through discipling.
Their greatest joy in life is to encourage others to know God, exalt Him, enjoy Him, and glorify Him forever!
